About Us

“Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.”

- Martha Graham

Inspirations Dance Company was founded in 2013 by Creative Director Melissa Brown-Skolsky and has since been progressing in growth with aspiring young professional dancers. It was created to provide the extended opportunity for dancers to continue their passion and drive through the art of dance.

IDC is in affiliation with Dynamic Talent, a company owned by Melissa since 2001.  Dynamic Talent has provided professional dance training to dancers professionally on stage, in the studio and in the community for years and is well known for creating and enhancing dance education programs and events throughout NJ and NY.

In 2012 Jackson, NJ became a home base for Melissa and her company.  At that time she began searching the surrounding area for an appropriate location to offer a dance & fitness program.

Inspirations was created in 2013 and quickly became a well-known business in Jackson, NJ and local areas offering dance and fitness to all ages and levels.  With successful growth within the company, it was clear that Inspirations would soon exceed the space limitations of what the studio could provide and a decision to focus solely on the competitive dance company and return back to the true passion of dance was made.

IDC then ran exclusively under the direction of Dynamic Talent and became an Elite Audition only Competitive Dance Company.  All aspiring dancers looking to become a part of this elite dance company must interview and audition privately before being considered for placement.

Our program was developed to improve the technique of intermediate to advanced dancers, in an intensive study of different fields of dance arts. We offer classes in the following genres: ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theatre, freestyle improv and commercial modeling. We often bring in teachers for master classes in other genres as well. Our company members also participate in extensive stretch, yoga and pilates classes within their dedicated program.

All company members train throughout the year to perform in competitive dance and showcase productions.  Our company members also attend numerous workshops and auditions throughout the season, to further educate themselves and allow continued growth in their craft.  Training and working in various rehearsal spaces, allows our company members to experience dance in different atmospheres, preparing them for success

Inspirations experienced and educated staff is committed to creating a wonderful dance environment for our company members.

Our Focus

Dance Education

We believe strong dancers need a strong background in dance education. That’s why our dancers take technique classes all year long, especially during competition season.

Quality Choreography

We believe that dancers deserve quality choreography so they are confident and professional on stage. That’s why we spend hours perfecting our routines before they’re even taught to the company members.

Support

At IDC, we’re a family. Our staff are dedicated to propelling company members to their highest potential in the dance field. We support our dancers as they expand their knowledge by taking masterclasses and workshops all over the country.
